Blue Couch Productions was created by Anneli Ekborn and Tara Samuel with the intention to create accessible narrative feature films and television in collaboration with producing partners at home and abroad.
Anneli Ekborn is a multiple award-winning and Genie-nominated producer with four features and nineteen plus short films under her belt. Awards include the Toronto International Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, Hot Docs, DGC, Rhode Island, Canadian Film Festival, New York’s Method Fest.
All of Anneliʼs films have been screened worldwide, most notably in Berlin, Cannes, New York, Japan, Palm Springs and at TIFF, VIFF and The American Film Institute.
Anneli is currently in development on feature film and television projects.
Tara Samuel hails from Toronto Canada, where she was classically-trained at the renowned George Brown theatre school, and where she began her career on the professional stage.
Currently, Tara plays ”Vangeline Neddeau” in original digital series, The Neddeaus of Duqesne Island, cbc.ca, released June 2017. Tara is most widely known for her television role "Tara Williams" in Sue Thomas:F.B.Eye. which continues to air around the world. Other television credits: Fully Dilated, The Mindy Project, The Division, Beachwood Charter, Singled Out, The Bold & The Beautiful, Twice In A Lifetime, Killer Deal.
In addition to acting Tara is an active producer and contributor on multiple Blue Couch Productions.
